Adam, no need for personal experience on this one. Jhot and Jarco receive the HIGHEST praise from everyone. But they are also a little more expensive than the others.

1JZ-GTE Soarer engine
-Hopefully when you buy this you shop around, you want a engine-set or a clip, whichever is better for your. Most engine sets will come with everything you need. Expect to pay anything from 1200-5000shipped(the 5000 is a extreme case w/ vvt-i and being overcharged(IMO))

--Used JDM engine importers(I am not vouching for any of these guys, although they are the mainly used importers)

I have been back and forth on either the 1JZ or 2JZ, but I already have a supra, so I was going to try something different and keep the SC JDM with the 1JZ.

I basically want a 1JZ complete with everything I need (most likely a front clip) with a TT auto tranny so I can just swap everything in and out with ease. Keeping it auto for daily driving purposes.

Was hoping to not go over $2500 for everything if I can find it. I own an automotive business, so I can get good prices on things. But of course I will pay for quality if need be. I do not like cheap things.

Anyone hear anything about Driftmotion.com or Nadauto.com

And do you mean Jhotimports.com ?? the link you have does not work.

Driftmotion is fine, I order **** from them all the time. As you know they are a site sponsor on supramania so ya. Aaron is cool. Nada? never heard of them. Call around man. I personally wouldn't go with ANY one else but jhot, jarco, or drift motion for a motor/clip. Aaron will be the easiest to deal with as he is in cali i beleive and is real down to earth.

Drift Motion took care of me on my MK3 Supra as well as labor for install. I have friends on Supra forums who had originally referred me to DM.


...Just as a side question to this thread (not trying to hijack by anymeans) but are 5spd Soarer Front Clips truly that hard to find?

I've purchased 5 1JZGTE soarer motor sets from Jhot. All run like the day they rolled off the assembly line. Nothing broken, blown, etc... I hear Jarco is just as good, but Jhot has never given me a reason to consider buying from someone else.


5spd soarer sets hard to find? that's a dumb question. I think america got more 5spd cars then Japan did. I can get one right now though if I needed for $1800.

He means the Soarer R154. Which never came in the US.
