Default Weird thing happened today (infamous electrical ghosts)

I had just pulled into a parking lot, and I was barely creeping along and my car lost all power for a second or two then came back to life. I don't think the engine died though during this time.

My clock reset...and it hasn't happened since.

I'm thinking that my fuel ecu might have glitched out??

I had the fuel ecu start to go in another car...and while cruising down the highway it literally would shutoff, almost die, then spring back to life similar to what happened today...until I bypassed the fuel ecu.

this kinda sucked...guess I'll have to pull the rear interior and bypass that ecu. I'll need to do it anyways when I go turbo later this year.

I don't think a fuel ECU would cause your radio to shut down. The power for the radio has a seperate power source from the main ECU and wouldn't be affected by a Fuel ECU.

Hmm...good point. The battery glitching out...now that could cause momentary loss of power.

I've had a battery go dead in a car driving down the road before, and everything pretty much died..I'll have to have the battery tested.

Probably have the infamous electrical ghosts. Look into your grounds, negative battery cable, alternator, battery...

Here are some threads that I came up with when I had these electrical issues:

Hey, thanks so much for those link's!

Look's like I will be replacing my negative battery cable with the GS300 cable, and then cleaning all 3 engine bay ground's.

I'll check my battery with a voltmeter as well. Should be 12V with the key off, and around 13.5-14.4 Volts with the car running, if the ALT is charging..

The negative cable ground at the chassis was really bad. I'm certain there was a bad connection going on there just waiting to cause me alot of trouble down the road.

Also replaced my cable ends which were hammered.

look how bad the ground was(upper right on the chassis)

much better after chasing the chassis threads, and sanding the connections down.

totally thrashed them just trying to remove them
