Default Transmission Advice

First of all , ill start by saying that i have already searched around the forum and internet for a solution ,
My friend recently bought a 93 Sc400 with 263,000 KM's , the car ran fine but the transmission seemed to slip , or have the common 1st to fourth gear problem , Until about 2 hours ago the transmission worked and shifted pretty good , we were cruising at about 60km/h when it lost grip on the gear and began to feel like it was in neutral the whole time it was in drive , now it wont engage into D , R , L or 2 , if you shut the car off and start it , put it into D , it will drive until you stop , then feels like you are in neutral until you shut it off and on again, Any help would be appreciated , thanks in advance
