I've read about and am aware of the BFI but I'm curious if anyone has has noticable gains with a cold air intake and which brand they went with. Thanks.

1. wrong forum.
2. search.
3. PLZ stop asking about intakes! they dont do much!
4. Most likely ur answer to a intake is always going to be BFI.
5. (just to be nice) the BFI has a noticeable change but dont expect much. and there arent many 1uzfe intakes made out there. the only brand name i know of is injen.

Its been covered many times. I also had a thread asking about cone filters.

Why waste money on a cold air intake when you can build the BFI cheaply and have better results?

I don't think theres such thing as noticeable gains with any intake system... Want real noticeable gains? Get nitrous or a supercharger.

Good Luck.

Amen on all accounts.

With 4L of motor, and intake is not going to transform the performance of the car. An intake will simply increase throttle response and make the top end revs a bit more easy to roll through: nothing major.

I would definitely take the advice of Curry and save up the money you want to put into an CAI and instead look toward investing in something like nitrous or a supercharger since the SC400 does not take very well to nickel and dime modifications.

For the price of a full stainless exhaust system from the headers back with mandrel bent pipe, you can slap on some nitrous, tune the car, and still have money in your pocket. Or, you could piece together a budget supercharger kit and make some serious power gains unlike the 20hp you might see with a full header back exhaust on an otherwise stock car.

^My friend, no one is offended by your request. Its just that almost every other day someone new asks about the BFI, and never really bother to search.

Was I one of those guys? Yes, at one point I was, then I started searching and a whole new world of information was opened up to me .

The BFI is what everyone says... but I guess im too concerned about aesthetics to do it... even the "pretty boy" version. I'm trying to keep a professional look to her.

Then put a hot air intake with a big ol' JDM sticker on it so you can impress everyone in the Dairy Queen parking lot. The BFI is always the answer to intake questions on the SC.

If thats the case then drop a few hundred bucks on a piece of shiney metal and a cone filter and call it a day.
