Default Replacing Coolant Reservoir- What is a switch?

I'm having problems with my SC400 coolant reservoir (leaks around the cap) and I'm looking to replace the entire thing. Hopefully I can find one somewhere.....

If I understand correctly, it has three parts: 1) reservoir tank, 2) sensor cap, and 3) switch.

What the heck is a switch? Does it really need to be replaced as well?

I'm a newb,
aphex

Ive already suggested it would be great if someone would sell a relocate kit for the resevoir to get it out of the way.
