Trans. Issue?
If i accelerate with WOT, when my trans. shifts, it shifts very sloppy and slowly. This does not change if i have the ECT switch set to power...also, it only starts doing it once the engine is completely warmed up and has been warm for at least 5 minutes. I haven't checked fluid levels yet, because it is freezing outside..but that will be the first thing i check. If levels are fine, am i pretty much screwed into taking it somewhere? any ideas what it could be besides a slipping transmission? so scared.....

if its not really a kick down cable, what is it? ... having what it actually is will help me find it faster
also, a kick down cable alters pressure in the trans. valve bodies, according to how much pressure is applied to the throttle, creating smoother shifts at less acceleration.. my car isnt doing that, it is shifting slowly, and definatly not smoothly, when at WOT...it still shifts correctly when just accelerating normaly, which leads me to believe it has to be something else

I read a thorough article on this a while ago that I can't find right now but its commonly referred to as the kick down cable so it wont make a difference on your search for it. Notice how even lexus does not call it a kick down cable... there's a difference between how that typically operates vs how our 3040le transmissions are setup.
