Default First SC400 yay! Clunk when on and off the gas boo...

So i finally got an SC400. 150K miles, ok inside and out. Biggest issue im having is some type of "clunk" when im on and off the gas. It sounds like its coming from under the arm rest or floor behind the seats. when off the gas and coasting, it also makes a slight "whirring" type noise, So are there any common causes for this? Iv got a complete poly bushing kit along with new motor/trans mounts on my first things to order list. Any advice on tackling a complete bushing replacement on the SC?

Welcome to the world of replacing the driveshaft center bearing. Something that has been discussed many, many times, so you should be able to find a lot of info on it.

I found a topic on here that described the issue word for word...turns out they replaced the transmission mount (real straight forward and cheap) and the problem was 100% solved. (like 4 or 5 different people)

I had a similar problem...though it really wasn't a clunk it was more like a stutter, and some hesitation on throttle response...I seafoamed it and all the problems went away...though if it's clunking it's probably not my problem, though I'd seafoam it anyways before I replace anything in my driveshaft.
