Default Piggy back SC400 (AFC, etc)

are there any piggy back fuel controllers for the 1uz-fe/ecu? something like the Apex'i AFC?

anyone know what the a/f ratio is stock or should be for a properly running 1uz-fe?

14.7:1 at idle and cruise?

??? wide open throttle?

i used to tune my supra turbo to 11.5 a/f at boost/WOT

ive used the greddy ultimate for my 240 and it works really really well, if you are going to buy a safc, dont bother, save that money and get a ultimate. so much stuff you can do with it. and you can find them for les than 400 used

I can't speak for the 400, but my 300 with intake/catback/pulleys was still a 10.0 AFR (so who knows how rich, it pegged the AEM UEGO) under WOT on the stock tuning. I ended up having to take out a ton of fuel at WOT to get it down to a 12.0-12.5 AFR under WOT. My cruising AFR's were just fine on the stock tuning though.

Emanage ultimate if you have the cash or an emanage blue will do that job as far as basic tuning.

I never got around to testing if it can control all 8 injectors

I don't know what the stock A/F should be but I think the NA v8 guys normally tune for 13.8 ?

I had the Emanage Ultimate in the Turbo Camry. Its a badass little box, I will say. Id like to have something like that on the SC, but I dont know how dual distributors work on something like that, as well as injectors.

I see a lot of people use an SAFC and gain a good amount of power out of the 1uz.

Yeah one of our fellow members netted a 16 rwhp gain and 42 ft lbs of torque with the SAFC II on his GS400! Very nice gains for a safc.

im pretty sure emanage will work with ANY car... i KNOW for a fact it is better for tunning than a safc. with safc you are looking for the ease of being able to tune it without anything else, where as the emanage you need a laptop. AND i think a lot of people uses the safc for the look of it. I tend to like the emanage because i like the sleek stealth look.

i got a safc II that I took out of my 240. It works pretty well in the lex, if the emanage can control all eight injectors I'd get that. And the AFR's on the 400 are pretty rich, I street tuned the lex, and the butt dyno says around 10-12 rwhp, it picks up better too. And gas mileage is also better. I leaned it out a bit on high map, and leaned out A LOT on the low map. On a N/A car, look for 13ish:1 area, I wouldn't go as low as 13.8, maybe 13.5.

I have a perfect power SMT6 that will work much better than a Apex'i. Its is preconfigured for a SC400 to run transparent. It has a wiring diagram for a 92-96 and a 97. I installed it but never tuned with it. Its basically brand new and I will be pulling it out when I get my stand alone. Sells for around $500somthing? Then you pay another $75 for the preconfig. It allows you to hook it up and get it running like stock and then start making adjustments. the current prefig is for a 97 but it can be sent to Bob and set for anything for $75. I think the 97 prefig should be close enough for other years. PM me if you are interested i would sell it all for Software, unit instructions, original box, $400 once I pull it.

Scott let me know when you pull it. I probly take it off your hands.

I myself was going to use an Safc to see what I could pull out but I got totally screwed on the one i got. I also was very weary of the rumors i heard that after time the factory computer adjusts to the afc and the thing pretty much just becomes a bunch of flashy lights in your car. I do not know the validity of this argument
