Transmission Swap
I got a 93 SC300 with 170K miles on it and i was planning on selling it and getting an SI or a 325is but my friend told me his friend is selling a 5 speed transmission off a Supra. I just want to know what you guys think I should do with the car whether sell it or go for the swap or something else. My initial plan was to swap the engine with the transmission but I just started my first year of school and I dont have money for all of that. And has anyone changed a transmission by themselves I just want to know what im getting in to if I do change it. Thank you

Yes it'll fit right in, you just need to make sure that the Supra was of the 93+ year model. You also will need a new few other items to complete the swap, I'll list what I can think of below:
Clutch assembly
5spd Flywheel
Clutch/ Brake pedal assembly
Master/ slave cylinders along with hydrolic lines
5spd drive shaft
5spd shifter trim and leather pieces
Modify the tranny tunnel accordingly and modify harness to allow you to start the car with a manual.
So yeah you could do it but if you're on an extremely low budget, stay away from it as just the tranny is NOT the biggest expense to be incurred in this conversion.
