Wassup guys.I'm usually on the GS forums but here's the dilemma.my friends gf has a 96 sc300.not sure of the year,but I heard it was a common problem that the ecu fails.so after I told her that,she wants to trade it in for an S2000.I feel bad because she fell in love with the car and I'm the reason why she doesn't want the car anymore.she just doesn't want to spend a lot of money if it does fail.so is this somewhat true?thanks.

ECU failures are very rare on any toyota. Used non-turbo ECU's go for
75 - 125.00 not enough to warrant selling the car.

Maybe your thinking of a FUEL PUMP ECU?? Much more common failure,
but still not worth selling a car over. Used $50- 100.

^^now that i think of it,my friends n/a supra also has a bad fuel pump ecu.i'll let her know and hopefully it'll change her mind.thanks man.

and if it is a bad ECU, which i have heard of, you can give JestR Tuning a call, i sent my 1jz ecu over to them and they replaced any bad caps and some other stuff for $50 plus shipping.
