Default HELP: Locating alternator connector for 95 SC400

My aternator burned up, fire and all, and melted the connector and the wires leading to the alternator. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the connector plug from a automotive electrical parts place or from a club member? My SC400 is a 95 and the connector was used on 94 to 97 SC400's.

I called IRONTOAD where I purchased the alternator and the other parts I ordered and they said only the complete harness is available from Lexus.

Am I screwed? Suggestions please.

i think the only way to get that connector is to go to the junk yard and find the same car and cut off the plug. personally i have NEVER seen an sc in a yard here in chicago area. i dont think they sell these plugs separately anywhere. good luck.

Default Thanks..

I found 2, 1 used and 1 new. I'll see where this goes from here. Worst case if both are the same, I put 1 on the sale forum.

As an FYI, it seems that a bad cell in the battery can make the regulator part BURN UP. So now for a battery check...

halsjl - I just destroyed my plug on my '95 SC alternator. PM me if you want to get rid of that extra plug, or let me in on your secret source for a new one.

Hi,

I'd be happy to share my second on with you. I need to find out which on my mechanic wants to use. The used on cost me $20 and the new one cost me $30 and both took more time to get than I wanted. I'll try to get hold of him today and let you know which is available and you can let me know if your interested.
