Makes noise when i start the car and accelerate.
Other than that stupid oil cap problem the other one is when i start my car and just give it a little gas you can hear like a bearing sound noise coming from the engine bay for like 2 seconds but its kinda loud and it wont do it again until i turn the car off, i can drive it all day and it shifts, drives, and rides perfect no problem what so ever. It just when i first start it and i just give it gas its makes that ERRRRRRRRRRRR noise like a screeching door but deeper (kinda hard to explain lol) for a few seconds and then it stops. THanks for the help guys .
If helps out the car sat for a year before i bought it

i will need a friend to help me with that toommarow the car has to be rolling and acclerated in order for the noise to come. i mean just a little acceralition ... like right when i tap it no matter how fast i hit it or slow it will make the same noise for the same amount of time every single time. Is that a little more detailed .

thats not my problem i can start my car and rev is and it wont do that .. its when i just move or accelerate. For some reason i think it may be the power steering pump .. thats what it sounds like but i looked at the fluid and it was full but i might change it.

kick your heatshield, see if it makes noise (kick it good), my car would make a sound like that when you tap the throttle from a standstill or under heavy acceleration. turns out the exhaust bracket broke over time and part of it was toucihing the car when i would give it gas. bent it back and no prob since.

Could be a bad powersteering pump .Is there any fluid in powersteering? you should service the car ASAP if it was sitting for a year ,at least a oil change and the belts. Toyotas love to gunk up when neglected.

Mine makes that weird sound too, but it doesn't happen during acceleration, only on start up. It's like a whining noise, but it's not a high pitch whining nose right? Sounds like it's coming from the center A/C vent?
I tried to find the sound, I popped the hood, and it sounded like it was coming from the throttle body.

I changed my oil and did the sparkplugs... There was soo much gunk it wasnt even funny.. thats why i had to pressure wash it and it didnt want to but i had to its was sooo nasty.. I couldnt beat the price for the car though... Flawless inside and out she just never poped her hood

Things known to make funny noises on the I6 is the power steering pump,ac compressor and crank pulley .if you cant diagnose the problem yourself take it to a good mechanic before you stary spending money on parts that you dont need.

Thats why im asking questions on here because i dont want to spend the money. This is my first lexus and im learning new **** everyday on this car. But it has been a long time since i been on this site i moved so i lost internet for almost a month. I found out where the noise is coming from.. I had my friend step on the gas when he first started the car and jacked it up and its coming from my abs. (Weird!!!) but i also found out that my trac light and my check engine light was not working so i bought new lights and my check engine light is on . So now the question is how can i check the lights by myself without spendin almost a hundred dollars taking it to a shop .. Thanks
