broken exhaust bracket ??
ok guys, i searched all the noise threads and i finally found the source of my grinding/rattling problem.
There were 2 noises.
1: when in drive and you tap on the gas, the sudden throttle would make a grinding sound under the car.
2: when its in very high rpm under wot, you hear a rythmitic tapping noise.
i took my car into the shop and they told me i had a broken hanger at first in front of my cat converter and said my heatshield was ok. they said they would need to order an EXHAUST BRACKET and its a special order part?
so to fix in the mean-time they said the bent the bracket out of the way, but that i would have to have it fixed soon.
Bending the bracket got rid of noise #1 but not noise #2. (noise 1 was def the worst)
does this sound wierd at all to anyone, in my experiance an exhaust bracket is a hanger that any shop could weld back on or bent back into place. they are a full shop and im getting my whole exhaust custom bent there next week but they say i need to order this bracket. on my 240sx i would have ripped it off and called it a day but my sc shall have none of that ghettotasticness?
suggestions? do i need the bracket? should they be able to fix it?
basically is the SC one special in any way. i need to know if i should trust these guys. thanks
