Default 1jz ecu mounting without extending harness??

I'm in the process of doing a 1JZ swap, and I've read that the ecu portion of the harness doesn't need to be extended.

I tried to get the ecu connectors to reach but the harness is too short. Does anyone have any pics of how to mount the ecu with an unextended harness? I searched but couldn't come up with anything.

thanks in advance!

The way I did it was: pull the wires just enough so they connect with the ECU, and let the ECU hang, and secure it with the black plastic panel that's already there.

You just have to extent it. you have a soarer harness an d not a mk3 one right? NEVER pull on wires that will be the worst mistake you will ever make and it will suck replacing broken wires.

It's a pita I do not want to deal with that again. I suggest you use a patch harness.

I didn't pull them enough to do any damage or until the point where they had no slack. My ECU works fine, and I'm not worried about broken wires. This definitely beats worrying about a knock sensor wire that hasn't got proper insulation.

Probably the best advice on here. Plus after that you can hook up safc and all that into the patch harness

thanks for the responses. I would love to use a jumper harness but I was pressed for time so I just ended up extending the harness instead. So far so good.
