Sweet times..... NOT! Engine = vibrator except 300lbs..
Ok, yesterday i noticed the entire passenger side of my engine was coverd in oil, so obviously i had a leak. I diagnosed it to be the valve cover gaskets... So today i decide to clean all of that oil up so when i install the new gaskets i can tell if its leaking and if it is, where. I start by taking the intake tubes off, throttle body and then come to a snag... I cannot get the y pipe off for the life of me and in the process, the black tube that connects to the back of the throttle body dumped a **** load of brown oil into myspark plug gallery.... So at this point i say **** it and start putting it back together (i did use a blower to get as much of the oil out as possible). At this point im dredding start up, i know something isnt going to go right and either way, i didnt want to deal with it. So i get everything back together, start it up and actually starts up smooth. For about 30 seconds it seemed fine, then it dropped in idle speed, and smoke came from the valve covers (temp guage did not go up, must have been the mix of cleaning chemicals and the oil spilt in the spark plug gallery?) I let it run for 30 seconds longer then cut it once the engine starting rocking back and forth as if it were starving for gas. I sit in my car for over a minute just saying **** **** **** **** **** **** in my head then start it again, same symptoms. I decided it was too late and my knowledge on cars would get me know where so now im on here to get your guys's input on what is going on... Keep in mind this is my daily driver, i need it fixed ASAP!

Yea maybe there is just oil on the plugs and they arent sparking clean the galleys and get new plugs couldnt hurt to get new plugs right? Plus i would clean where the pil was with carb or brake cleaner since it will get all the oil off and dry it out. I would change the oil after that since carb cleaner will thin out your oil but new oil wouldnt hurt either and make sure your maf is clean too

Alrighty, GOT IT FIXED!!!! Took everything apart (finally figured out how to take the y pipe out) CLeaned everything up, changed the oil and switched back to some ****ty old plugs until the coolant finally burnt up. After i had everything back together the engine still rocked back and forth a whole bunch so i wasnt done yet... I know it was a leak, it was very obvious because you could hear it really easy.. I diagnosed it to be the pipe thingy that the egr valve sits on. I didnt tighten it enough to make a seal so i just screwd the screws in and bingo, engine purs as if she were new Im especially happy that i got this fixed considering i have no previous mechanic history and i have very shallow pockets.. Neither are good for a broken engine If anyone else is have the rocking engine problem, its either the vacuum hoses, a gasket in something that connects to the y pipe or throttle body, or the maf...
