Stock 1JZ, How to Maximize HP
Like the title says.... what can I to do the stock set up to maximize the power? For instance, nitrous, methanol kit, exhaust, ect. All I have now is 3" dp, no boost controller, smic, stock cat, 2.5" 14829 magnaflows. What you guys suggest doing? (besides going single)

He stated that he wants to keep the stock setup. Here are a few things you could do:
1-Boost controller - turn that ish up
2-FMIC or Front Mount Intercooler
3-3" or 2.75" turbo back exhaust with high flow or deleted cat. Go 3" if you plan to swap out the twins.
4-Intake to turbo's
5-Intercooler Piping
6-Port stock turbo's and/or intake and exhaust ports
7-Larger throttle body
That's really about it before you have to go and get engine management, even all that will need some form of tune or that's what would be reccomended.

2. How can I run the intake to the bottom of the bumper to make it a get "cold" air
3. The q45 throttle body is what you guys use right?
4. Maybe I should start with a fmic... 2.5" piping or 3"?

FMIC, intake, and exhaust would wake the car up for sure. Running the boost to 10-12psi through a boost controller is still quite safe, even on the shady JDM turbo bearings.
A good turbo shop may be able to rebuild the twins with better bearings to run more boost, but you are definitely better off spending that money on a 61mm turbo and a single manifold at that point.

The most I've got out of twins is 310whp and 330whp torque with the automatic tranny.
The mods were:
3in downpipe and exhaust, stock y pipe.
20psi boost.
93 octane.
SARD reflashed ECU.
Retarded exhaust cam 2.5 degrees.
Everything else was stock. If I had a FMIC i could have done alot better. At 10psi it was making 292whp.
But who cares, stock twins suck. Go single.

The blowing up of twins at over 1 bar rumor has been proved to be wrong for years now. I know you're having fun with the BMW, but get with the times
If your going to spit the turbine blades out the muffler, its going to happen no matter what boost you run at, it's a fact of life with 15 year old ceramic blades.

So i guess best bet is to go FMIC, finish my exhaust and use the rest of the money to go single.... Im already addicted to the boost and I need more! The closest I can get to high 3's with out breaking the w58...
