Default running straight 4in exhaust

i did a search and couldnt find any pictures or links of sc300 running
4in straight exhaust. i plan on running this with maybe a vibrant race muffler
on my 2jzgte with pt67. the sound clips and pictures from joshfsm doesnt work anymore. i was thinking either the vibrant or maybe burns stainless. i saw the 5in but not 4in straight exhaust.

Are you going to be making the power to justify a 4" exhaust?

From the numbers I have crunched, you really need ~600hp to not destory your low end while irrefutably justifying the additional flow over the 3".

I am not thinking from a sound perspective...just from an exhaust dynamics perspective.

i'll be running a 3" downpipe to a 4" mid and 4" catback. I plan on using the Magnaflow 4" round muffler and a 4" resonator around where the stock cat is located.

The 2jz head doesnt flow all that well... a bigger exhaust system and bigger manifold setup help that flow. A 4" catback doesnt hurt low end all that much at all; but a 4" downpipe might. But 700whp through an auto is plenty to need a full 4" system

4" is definitely the way to go with that much power. I did not realize that you were going so intensive with your build. That will definitely kick ***.

I have put so much time into disecting various exhaust formulae, and I just wanted to make certain that you were aware of what justified a 4" exhaust. I would bet the number of SC's on this forum in such a circumstance is small to very small. Thus, my original comment was made.

I plan to put a hks Ti Exhaust onto my sc300 in the future. I"ll be in the mid to upper 900rwhp range, so i'm sure the 5Zigen mega will def be a bottle neck to be removed.

does anyone have any pictures of straight pipe with vibrant or burns stainless in 4in? i'll be single exhaust instead of dual and retaining the 92-96 rear bumper.

which magnaflow were you talking about? and yea im really into making power and drag race alot and highway pulls. i couldnt afford a supra so i went with the next closest thing.

Yeah you do, for smaller turbos. 4" is a huge overkill for something like a T04E and does hurt spool and response times. Its been documented. Who are you again?

Magnaflow only has 1 type of 4" muffler It comes in a short and long version, its in their catalog on their website. I wont touch Burns Stainless stuff because I think its overpriced to hell and back, and I've never seen the Vibrant 4" muffler before (not to say it doesnt exist).

I agree, but it is the best stuff out there. I will be paying ~$300 for a Burns 2.25" X-pipe for my V8's exhaust system. The design is not three times better than Magnaflow's design, but it is better nonetheless.

Well I'll be using a UJ-bend of 4" 304SS and a magnaflow muffler plus a magnaflow resonator both at 4". It'll be a single pipe and very very simple just like the BL exhaust
