Default Stock 2jz-ge motor w/ arp studs

Guys,

How much power can a stock 2jz-ge motor with 2.5mm hg and arp head studs hold? And for how long?

LOL - I tried searching several different things without answers...

I am trying to not make it blow - thus curious as to how far it can be pushed

Thx man,

Sup Jonny,

Suprised Bean hasn't chimed in. Try this 1 :

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=281074

or search Bean in the performance section. (many pages)

You should be good 600/700 all day long w/ proper tuning.

Thx man, I had actually read Beans thread on clubna-t last night so that helped a lot. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Sorry for the late response.

The bottom end can handle a lot of power. Actual differences between GTE and GE blocks are very few. Pistons are slightly different, but made using the same process (pressure-cast and heat-treated). The headstuds give the security you need from keeping the head from lifting and the gasket gives you the security you need for blowing the stocker (which is still pretty beefy I might adD).

DaveH has taken a stock 200k+ mile junkyard motor into the 9s before and probezilla is running a GE block with GTE pistons and it is in the 8s.

Supra Dr is right. 600-700 all day long no issues provided your tuning is good (and cooling system is ok -- unlike me ). The shortblock CAN handle quite a bit more than that, but more issues will begin to arise.
