Default Confused about rear diff mount.

I called the local parts department, and told him i needed parts for replacing the rear diff mount.

He check his diagrams and told me that i need to go under the car and measure the thickness of several bushings and washers myself. Why would i need to do this and does this mean different cars use different thickness bushings and washers?

It doesn't make sense. I am having a hell of a time ordering the right parts, and nobody seems to know what exactly i should order.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
