Default 1jz

hi guys, i am currently contemplating on getting a sc300 and doing a 1jz drop in. what would be the idea engine for this? how reliable is this? what kind of power does it make? i want to stay in a automatic. any and all help would be very much appreciated.

we do have a search feature(im starting to understand more and more everyday why all the OG's always tell everyone to search, i havent been here that long and its already getting on my nerves to see these questions all the time)

How about just look at the first 3 pages of the performance section and open any of the 12 (yes...I counted them) threads that relate to the 1J.

this is exactly why i said search, there is no excuse ofr not being ablt to find info on the 1jz swap, the most commonly discussed topic in the performance section

no need to get your blood pressure rising.

When you search for something like 1JZ that only has three letters in the word, use a wild card character, or asterisk. Search the performance for "1JZ* turbo", "1JZ* swap", etc...I promise you that your results will be fruitful.

The 1JZ is rather reliable. The fuel economy is good. The performance is amazing for a 2.5L. It can achieve 400whp without much creativity being required. It can handle huge numbers, but you begin to loose streetability over ~500whp as the power band becomes thin.
