Default R154 and the SC.

Ok, so I'm trying to get this straight in my head.

The Soarer r154 has the shifter mounted near the tail shaft, as well as a difference in length. The MKIII Supra r154 has the shifter mounted farther up.

The plentiful MKIII Supra R154 can be made to work on a 1jz sc via a soarer bellhousing (?), and some modifications to the linkage (?). And what does one do about speedo (?). If one was smart and skirted these problems by getting the soarer r154 what would it cost?

Thank you in advance.

I emailed jarco about acquiring a Soarer 1JZ clip with an R154 on their next trip to Japan. They told me it shouldn't cost more than $3500. There is no doubt that acquiring a Soarer clip with an R154 is the easiest way to ensure that you cover all bases. The only debate is that it can be done cheaper by peddling parts in two or three swoops. But, for hassle free, a front clip is the best insurance policy.

Thumbs up

And what does one do about speedo (?).
You use the w58 speed senor, reclock it with a two-holed bracket (for two bolts), and you swap out the plastic w58 speed sensor wheel for the supra MkIII R154 plastic wheel...now you have accurate speedometer readings .
