Default I just Painted some engine pieces and did the BFI

SO as the title says, i painted some of the engine using white high temp engine paint and i did the BFI using a dremel tool(took maybe 30 min). with the BFI i notice more of a difference in sound than power but i havent raced anyone yet to see if it helped. with that said, here's some pics
what other peices would look good painted white? let me know what you think

That's not really a BFI. The intent of the BFI is to allow higher pressure, cool air to be routed to the airbox by creating a channelway from the lower grill to the airbox. Then, the venting holes allow the air to go in the air box easier.

While you have a good start, you will only be pulling in more hot air, effectively decreasing performance.

oh ok, i never really read the BFI how to i just kindof did it so i guess i'll be doing the rest tomorrow if i can find the link to the how to. and i know the white will get dirty when i work on the engine but it will give me a good reason to not neglect my engine and try to clean it more often, i will be doing a 1jz swap in a few months so none of this is really permanent, just trying new things

AND can someone direct me to a link of the BFI how to page because i cant seem to find it from searching and im getting annoyed, i just must not be using the right key words

I've been wanting to do my spark plug cover too, did you do any prep work or did you just paint it?

to paint it, i used some degreaser and then sanded lightly to scratch up the surface and then painted, make sure you do alot of light coats instead of a few thick ones. and yea i definitly need to clean up the rest of it

so i did the full BFI from the link above, it took about 1.5 hours but it wasnt too hard, the main thing was decifering the pictures and stuff from the link because they were a little confusing. i cant really tell much of a difference except its louder but i guess ill wait and see when i race my friends car who ive been dead even with in every race before this
