Default 1997 SC300 5 speed 1JZGTE swap

Hi, I have searched for days now and have not found the answer im looking for.
1. Has anyone here done a 1JZ in to a 1997+ SC???
2. Is the wiring all that diffrent from the regular 1jZ swap into a OBD1 system?? (Just extending the body plugs)
3 And the last question. Is it easier to do a 1JZGTE or a 2JZGTE into a 1997 SC300????

LOL. So 1JZ is winning? Given a choice without looking at the expense aspect, 2JZ is hands down a better choice.

1. Has anyone here done a 1JZ in to a 1997+ SC???
I know one person. He wishes he just turned his stock motor like many others.

2. Is the wiring all that different from the regular 1jZ swap into a OBD1 system?? (Just extending the body plugs)
The wiring harness and ECU are different. Also you will need to extend the harness because JDM ECU sits on the other side of the cabin.
3 And the last question. Is it easier to do a 1JZGTE or a 2JZGTE into a 1997 SC300????
It is easier to swap a 2JZ and you'll be making more power.

I think most people don't know what they're talking about.

it will be harder to modify the 2jz harness, even with the 1jz it will be a little harder b/c of OBDII but it shouldnt be a gigantic problem

sc250tt swapped his into an SC400 so im assuming it would be a little different than into the 300, its basically just extending the body plugs and it bolts right up, with the 2jz you have to splice into the wiring harness to get it to work

I'm not familiar with the OBDII stuff but honestly I would go for the 2jzgte from the beginning. I went 1J because it was cheap at the time and I just went single because I roasted my stock twins with all that I could have gone BPU 2JZGTE and have about the same that I have now single. Bottom line is you spend some now and some later with the 1J or you spend all now and go 2J. The 2J twins will last for a while can go up to 4XXHP.

my car was a sc400 ,some wires are different on the 300 ,the bad thing about the obd2 is that the bodyplugs wires are all the same colors ,the thing that helped me was i did the swap to my old sc400 and followed what i did with that car
