check the fluid while the vehicle is hot. Make sure it's at the right level, is RED, & doesn't smell burnt.

If the fluid is OK, then reset the ECU

What you describe is not normal, I just threw out a couple quick checks to make sure is wasn't something simple.

You should check to see if there are any codes stored.
Is your "O/D off " light flashing ?

If the "Check Engine" light is on, it could be a transmission code. If not, drop the transmission pan and look at the magnet. There should be a little bit of stuff on it (like graphite fealing ) if there is "gold" looking stuff or slivers of metel. Look at a rebuild. (it should take 2 quarts of Type T2 transmission fluid to reifll the pan after reinstalling it with FIPG)

well i plan on dropping the pan next week when i drive it to wk... but the only code it is throwing is bank 1 sensor 1, no tranny codes..... but i did notice that it only does it when the temp gauge reads just at or above normal(1/2way) so dont know it that night have anything to do with it
