Default possible or not 355-400whp on 5k budget.

i have read some of the threads. any help is appreciated. just got a sc300 shell w/w58 5spd . negative is missing the whole exhaust sys. and radiator, and drive shaft. positive is solid body, tien ha susp and supra tt wheel/tires
***plan is a 1 jz swap with the w58. fastest and easiest way to get this thing running and boosting. any good and complete exhaust sys for the 1jz out there . will try to get used sc300 drive shaft and possible mk4 tt radiator.
any way, any means for me to achieve my goal with my 5k budget is greatly appreciated.

^Werd^

Soarer 1j motor set - 1500 - 2000 shipped(Giver r take)
New mm's,plugs, waterpump, Belts, hoses, etc - Maybe 500$
Install it yourself - Basically free
XS power single kit - 1299 shipped

Boom 400 horse. Of course there are different routes but to go with xs power or 935 motorsports is prolly the most cheap.

For the radiator, I'd get (well, I did get..) an all-metal MKIV tt radiator from radiatorbarn.com... brand new I think is about $130

Question thanks for quick response guy

just want a street sleeper, not a track car. one thing that is not clear is not sure which tranny is stronger or better. my clip will come w/154, need an opinion on this issue, should i use the 158 or 154. please share some 1st hand performance and reliability experience. also can't find info on max boost and max pwr those smic can handle. must be missed in one of the thread.

I have no experience but from what I know the R154 would be the better choice. I have a friend who has a w58 (which is a truck transmission) in his na-tt MKIV so the W58 will hold the power. But the R154 would hold more power reliably.

Please correct me if I have anything wrong.

both the R and W transmissions have roots in Toyota trucks. The W is smoother and more limited on power (400rwhp is pushing it). The R is less smooth, but more sturdy. For your application (350+rwhp), the W transmission would likely be the transmission of choice.

If you catch the 600hp fever, then you will need to swap out. But, at that point you may have $5k for a tranny alone and you can go V160 and blow everything out of the water.
