Default weird electrical bug.

Sorry i've been ghosting the forums for a while now but i haven't really had a reaon to post yet. About a month ago i started having a weird problem when i tried to crank my sc400. Before it happens my headlights would dim and my radio would black out for a second whenever i pushed the brake and when i went to crank the car the next time it would act like it had a dead battery. When it does this its the same thing everytime, the thing with the lights and when i try to crank it the tilt wheel moves a little and all the cluster lights are very dim and it doesn't even try to crank, some electrical things work and some don't. After a while it'll turn on all normal and it won't have any problems for about 7-10 days then it'll do it again. The only clue i have is when it does this the alarm won't arm and it goes off whenever i try to lock it. At first i figured it was the alternator being the power steering is leakin on it but i do keep it cleaned off and it only does it once every few days otherwise the car is completely fine. I'm starting to think it has something to do with my alarm as the car doesnt even try to crank as though the alarm is armed or going off. The only other possibility i can think of is the battery is developing a dead cell or something. Any suggestions?

i checked the battery today and it has a nail in it betwwen the negative terminals of the battery and the wire terminal. I think i'll try a new battery but it just seems weird that it does it randomly.

Check the cables. Some times the negative cable will corrode under the insulation and it will cause this type of “work/not working” symptom. Bad cable ends will do the same thing.
