Default What model is my motor from?

Hey forum dwellers, I have a quick question.

I purchased a SC300 w/ 1JZGTE. Here's the question, how do I confirm exactly what car (chaser, supra(not 2J, I know better), soarer, etc..) this motor came out of?

Also, how do I know the motor code (JZZ30,JZX110,etc...)?

I'd like to upgrade a few things and would like to make sure I'm buying the correct things for the correct motor or setup.

Here's a pic of under my hood:

I know there's a difference between the oil sump on the JZZ/JZA's and the JZX's.

from looking at it its you have a supra engine .no clutch fan and some hoses on the turbo mani is shorter on yours.the soarer engine sets have clutch fans .if you dont have a clutch fan its not a soarer engine

i would think it would be fairly safe to assume its a soarer motorset. Cant you ask the builder? Also on that fan it simply looks like the fan was removed ( probably for electric fans) the bolts and nuts on the pulley look just like mine when the fan was off.

Anyway, any 1J part you are buying would pretty much be the same ( regardless in what it is ) what parts are you looking to get that you need to know exactally what car the 1J came from?

that is not a soarer engine blair look carefully at your engine and the hose coming from the valve cover is shorter than a soarer .The soarer hose is twice the size .its a supra engine with a 2jz waterpump conversion .i can assure you that it is a supra and not a soarer engine .the only difference is the soarer engine has more power, and the water pump and turbo mani is slightly different but all bolt on parts are the same

The unless the wire harness was replaced, the supra 1JZ has a second pressure sensor and harness by the igniter. The MKIII supra came stock with a WORKING boost gauge in the dash. It really doesn't matter which 1JZ motor you have, the water pump is now correct and oil pan. You could even be using a soarer ECU or Chaser ECU. All 1JZ performance parts are interchangable anyways. Hard pipes for the intercooler and a larger exhaust will really wake up your motor.

That is a 1JZ with the fan taken off or electric fan put in. Look at this pic.

And here is the 2JZ.

It looks like that kids car that posted it in the classifieds, and then on ebay. It was a great deal. Its nice to see it will go to a nice home.

If he laready did the swap for you. Why would it matter if it a soarer, supra or chaser engine. All the hard work has been done
