Default Intercooler Question

Does this unit look like it would work??? Its off a Ford Super Duty Deisel truck.. Pretty cheap for the size.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...248250&r=0&t=0

Would be very cost effective. 3" end ports... Looks like it would flow like the big HKS or Greddy units.

Let me know what you think.

damn thats a good price

looks like it would fit... i know a 28x8x3.5 FMIC will fit... not sure if that 18" tall one would fit as far as height goes, but there's a lot of room under there...

i don't think that IC will be as good as your SupraTT sidemount though... the SupraTT sidemount is supposed to be one of the best ICs as far as sidemounts go...

you can find GTR and Silvia cores for pretty cheap

Thumbs up

If it fits it will defintely work. And should be a huge improve over the fatory side mount your running. I know plenty of people who upgrade to the mitsu diesel intercoolers from supra side mounts and other applications as well and I believe this unit is even bigger. I believe jeff is or was running the mitsu diesel front mount at one point.

my apexi skyline gtr core fits right into that spot perfectly... its a nice intercooler and i do like apexi's fin design but ive read its only efficient up to about 550rwhp so i plan to switch to the greddy 3 row the tt guys use

from the looks i dont think it will work....connections are to high....it will interfere with the bumper support....i think..not sure....might look into buying brians<veilside> apex if he is getting rid of it.......and why are you getting rid of the side mount?......going bigger?....Jeff

Bigger, yes... At 423rwhp on pump gas, when running race gas, its over 500rwhp. The stock side mount can't support 500rwhp without compromise.
Good to hear from you, Jeff.....you don't call me anymore.
Hope alls well down there. Meg and I may come down this winter.

I haven't had much time to think about it. Since Jeff already has ammo, I probably wouldn't need to bring the SC. On the other hand, I may want to have Lance massage the beast. When I go FMIC, I'm gonna make sure its the last one I'll have to buy. I'll probably go with the big Greddy or HKS.

That's that same thing I told Lance the other day. I told him I want to upgrade to a FMIC, and I want it to work with what I've got now, all the way to 1000hp. Nice big FMIC.

Something like this?

I have the GReddy 3row in my 92. We also run the same FMIC in all of our fast shop cars, including SW's Supra, which went 9.81@154mph. It's all you need.
