Default Oil Filter For 1JZGTE

Do 2jzgte oil filters work on the 1jzgte? If not, what should I use?

yes, i use the 2jzgte one and i believe the part number is 3614 for fram oil filters

I would avoid using Fram oil filters. Check out this thread on Aftermarket Filters

try using the search function next time. i know you got a new/used sc300 and probably dont know much about the 1jz yet but almost every question u will have has been discussed already

use the ls400 oil filter from toyota its larger

There is no minimum spec for an oil filter. It just has to fit and have a little bit of paper in it to call it a filter. Frams are notorious for collapsing and stopping up the oil system, which will cause a tapping noise at start-up to full blown engine failure if left long enough.

I would stick with OEM filters on any vehicle I own. They are actually "made to spec" for the various vehicles and are better quality than any aftermarket filter.
