Exclamation SC300 Help

hey guys I'm new to this forum and im going to buy a SC300, i would like to get a 98 99 or 2000. and my question is. Are the VVT-i engine good for turbo?
How much horsepower do they hold safely.

Thanks

nope VVTi's are not good for turbo's, you can hold power but not as much. Stay away from VVTi's if you think ur going NA-T

yes you can put a turbo, alot of the IS guys do, i would put the mark as close to 400hp. But your biggest worries with NA-T is the compression in the engine so your limitted by that nonetheless. I would call 400hp safe on VVT-I but if you search there are posts on the limits of these engines.

yeah stay away from VVTI's for NA-T thats true and u cna hold about 400 to the wheels boosting like 7 or 8 any higher and ur gunna have problems...do a search u'll see all the people with tehir problems cus their boostin glike 10-12 psi on stock motor..not a day passes without a problem for them
