Default HELP with 1JZ Car won't go above 2k RPMS and crappy idle

UPDATE:
The car seems to be running okay. Chalk it up to a wet air filter....I think. We'll see how she runs from now on.

Ok Folks

I have a 93 SC300 5spd with a 1JZ swap. I removed the battery today to do some cleaning of the inner fender wells, nothing on the motor. After putting the battery back in, the car took a while to start.

It turned over a bunch of times before finally kicking in. After the car started up, the idle was pretty low. When I tried to rev it up, the car engine would rev limit at 2000 rpms. If I let off the gas at that point, the engine would drop to idle, somtimes dropping below idle.

What would cause the 2k rev limiter? Limp mode?

Steve
