Default New Tune ... Need New Management....sc31jz

Well I've been reading about management for the past two days now but have come up empty handed on what to run for a sc300 with 1jzgte swap.

I am setup to produce more power than what my current SAFC allows me too, so a stand alone is what I have in mine. Preferably the EMS unit. But which one? The Supra TT is for the 2jzgte and the sc300 is for NA which would require me to buy the two GM items for boost. But is that only for the 2jz?

I would prefer not to go with Greddy due to their reputation with management systems......just what I've read.

Thumbs up

there's also GEMS, WOLF EMS, Haltech, Megasquirt, etc. Fwiw, there are a few 1JZ-GTE cars succesfully running on megasquirt and some with sequential injection too!

I'm hesitant about PowerFC for the simple fact that it will not auto-retard timing or resort to fail-safe engine parameters when your engine begins knocking. So, if you're engine detonates long enough, you will blow it up with the PowerFC .

if the engine knocks though, i believe the PFC throws the CEL light

no aem ems for the 1jz, people buy one for supra and use a harness adapter.

1st off its great to see that you are using the search button for answers!
Ive read the negative reviews also. But dont be so quick to discount 1jz300's post. As he too has been exactly where you are now. Trying to make an educated choice for his setup. Wich he seems to be running successfully using the Emanage.
Forgive me if im mistaken, Im assuming you're info is based primarily on info from CL, Supraforums, and clubna-t?
All are geared primarily to info on the 2jz engine platform. Moreso the the 1jz.
The reviews ive read of the Emanage by the overseas Soarer owners (1jz platform) seem considerably more favorable.

No it will not auto-retard timing but with the commander, you can see you knock levels in real time. I know its not the same and not nearly as good as having the computer auto-retard timing during detection of knock but being able to monitor it is better than nothing. fwiw, Geoff at full race has had some really good results with the power fc.

I've also read about the E-Manage series on Honda-Tech. I wan't something proven and with the capabilities similar if not identical to the EMS unit. Where might I find this harness adapter?

Check out the new MAP-ECU 2. I've started a discussion about it. Who's going to be the first to bite?
