Default MAF sensor? T-belt?

92 SC400.

So all of the sudden the car loses power. It barely limps home and there's no power.

the car idles ok...but there's definitely a strong smell of gas and the smoke from the tailpipe is black. it doesn't seem like it's burning oil. tranny is ok and the fluid appears to be ok. the oil seems ok..doesn't appear to be burning oil. there's no check engine light from the dash.

oh one more thing...when i rev the engine it revs but the RPM drops to 0 and then bounces back up to idle speed..it doesn't stall but it definitely bounces off 0.

any idea what's going on here?

Thanks!
