hmmmmmm..... possible leaking in the heads, rings?
I think my heads and rings are leaking oil and it is getting on the plugs somehow. I'm counseling the greater minds to give me more ideas. This was just a hunch.... could be a sensor.
If the car sits for a couple days, it misses until it warms up. Misses at idle, misses during acceleration, misses, misses, misses.
when it is warm it runs great.
whatcha think?
NO codes, scanner shows all normal values while running, plenty of smoke on startup when ice cold (blue, definitely oil). Goes away for the most part when warm.
I have a spare engine and tranny so I don't care, but I'd like to know. remember, this is after it sits up for a bit.

I have seen the Tundra V8 leak from the valve stem seal and oil soak the plug. After the engine warms up the seal will seat and the oil will burn off the plug and it will run great. Hope this helps.

I guess the only good news is that the heads don't have to come off to change the valve stem seals.....
If the compression is still good, and that's the only problem you're having, it could possibly be a really healthy motor aside from that one problem.
I'd hate to swap a whole motor and find that it's seals are going south soon too.....

do a leakdown teste and put in less than a table spoon of oil down the plug hole put that cyl at tdc and put in the leakdown tester into the spark plug hole and put in about 40psi listen in the intake mani or the oil cap for leaks that a valvestem leak listen in the dipstick for piston rings head leaks are more common but dont out rule the piston rings better to know then to guess
