1jz--- hands down- By the time you spent that on a 1j, you could actually do some mods and tune it, whereas, with a 2j, I doubt you could even get a clip for that much............ 1j

An auto soarer 1jz clip can be had for $2300 shipped..... The only way to go.. Except the manual swap of course.... They cost $1000 more for some reason.... (r154 I guess).. But still cheap for half of a Twin Turbo Soarer..

It almost seems easier to just cut your car in half and weld the clip up rather than moving all the parts across...

Uh oh! Na-t vs Swap war again lol. No but 1j all the way. It was easily the best decision I have made for my car. Do the swap, full bolt ons,Cams/ cam gears, and get ready for going single!

Since this question is basically the same topic: Here goes:

I got a 92 SC400 for $3400 with a few minor issues-- but it ran awesome all the way back from Dallas, so I'm really confident it's in good running condition...

The car is solid as a rock, good interior, good sheet metal, ZERO rust-- just needs bushings and mounts...... BUT, it's auto.... : pfft :

What I'm wondering is how difficult it would be to get a manual soarer clip and convert the auto to manual, using all the parts..

I know it would be a hefty job, but I would tackle it over a good period of time, with no deadline really.....

My real question is this: Would I be better off trying to resell the SC400 and picking up a SC300 5 spd with the pedals and trim pieces already in place, or just keep the SC400 since I know what condition it's in, and use the m/t clip to swap it to manual myself....

Hopefully this isn't considered a thread hijack....

if you think you will be satisfied w/ ~300hp, then the 1jz is ok, but keep in mind it's somewhere b/t 13s and 14s land...i dunno how the times vary so much.

if you want mor epower, then i say NA-T because it's pretty mch like going straight for the single, and with the numbers the set-ups are putting out, it's no joke.

i went 1j because i want to rev to 9k, and not too much power. yes, i've been blown away by other cars on the street...actually, my car is just a rice police, but anything else seems to be able to take me...for now, i'm upgrading to my single soon.

whatever route you go, be nice to your tranny.
