Top Dead Center And Distributor Replacment
I broke my distributor and am needing some help with the install of my new one. I dont know how to set the car to top dead center and i really dont want to have to pull the intake manifold to check. So how do i find top dead center? and once i do that does anyone have any tips or info on installing a new distributor. yes, the whole distributor not just the cap or rotor.
thanks

before you remove the dist. cap & rotor, mark all locations and don't crank the engine with these parts removed. you should B good to just R&R.You need a compressor tester ....install n #1 cyl. rotate engine as the piston come up on the compression stroke the gauge reading will increase ...the max reading at top dead center (TDC) is where the timing marks should line up...The rotor should B pointing to the #1 spark plug wire in the dist cap.
