Angry OMG somebody help me!! Warning LONG

Ok let me give you a little back story on my frustration regarding my SC.
Also I want to apologize for any grammar/spelling errors since I'm writing this during class)

I purchased a 93 SC300 5spd over 2 years ago. It had a huge windshield crack, and the leather was extremely worn, it had high miles but ran around fine.

I spent some $$$ fixing the front windshield, and buying interior parts from another clublexus member (thanks marc) who had wrecked his SC.

I then jumped on the 1jz bandwagon.. and purchased a soarer front clip from gspeedcorp.com. And about a week later I had a soarer front clip in my garage.
At first the plan was to swap it myself.. but after tinkering with the clip.. I soon realized that maybe it was beyond my reach.. Especially without the proper tools..

So I continued purchasing parts

FMIC
Walbro
Diazen control arm bushings
Diazen steering rack bushings
SAFC
Tein HA coilovers
HKS BOV
Supra TT throttle cable
Supra TT radiator hoses
Supra TT Front and rear calipers
Stainless Steel brake lines
19" rims and tires staggered to fit the upgraded brakes
Greddy Boost controller
3" downpipe
HPF Clutch
New flywheel
boost gauge
1jz fuel rail with MKIV 550 injectors
Aermotive FPR
greddy 1jz timing belt
new serp belt

So I then I start looking for a shop to help me finish my car. I finally find a shop who refer me to a smaller shop.. this person seems reputable and very knowledgeable about 1jz's

fast forward to 6 months later..

It's now my day to move from Oregon to Las Vegas..
Of course my swap has dragged out ... on and on... every time I call it's almost done.. so I go to pick up my car and guess what it's not done..

Needless to say I'm very upset... also I find out that my turbos are blown.. which I could have bought new turbos and got them on there.. but I was told everything was fine..
Then I get a song and dance ... about how he will fix everything and bring my car to me in las vegas.. I get a phone call a few days later.. oh we'll I've got the turbo issue solved ... I got some stock twins sent next day air.. and I put them on.. and I will be bringing your car down..

fast forward another 45 days..

my car is in Sacramento... I'm still pissed.. now mr know it all is saying that I agreed to meet him halfway .. so what do I do .. I get off of work.. buy a plane ticket and fly to Sacramento.. pick up my car, drive it back to las vegas oh did I mention the turbos are still blown and my car smokes like crazy.. when I get back to vegas I rack out for 1 hr and go straight back to work...

Now that I have the car in my possession I come to find out a few more things are wrong.. such as I am now missing
floor mats
flip out cupholder
my ecu cover (my ecu is just chilling under the carpet)
my under dash pannel and a new in cabin filter parts are all missing
he drilled holes in my trip meter
my boost gauge is mounted but not hooked up
my boost controller is not installed
the safc is just tossed in the armrest
my cruise control no longer works
the key for my mcguard lugs is missing
the fuel rail is not installed
the fuel pressure regulator is not installed
the TT brakes which I paid to get rebuilt squeek like crazy
I have no reverse lights
the AC was discharged
Oil light stays on
not all of my Diazen bushings were pressed in
the greddy timing belt was in the trunk
oh and the turbo problem was never taken care of....

So with more frustration and out more money.. I pick myself up and try again...

So I get more money.. lol

I start looking for 1jz single turbo kits..

I ended up purchasing one from Manictech racing.. Rudy is an excellent guy he helped me with my turbo selection and put together the kit, test fitted it and answered all of my questions. The kit shipped and was delivered on time and packaged very well... I also purchased a TTC fuel rail and some 650cc injectors which he was packaging up to send to me while I was still on the phone.. (man I wish I lived in Florida)

I also went ahead and ordered some of my missing parts from Gazi.. thanks..

While all of this is taking place I'm frantically searching Vegas for a shop to install my goodies.. one that is reputable and knows what there doing..

I call virtual works.. (before silv) they are super busy which I can understand.. they also recommend some other shop.. Cant remember the name.. so I go and check them out.. there shop is dirty & nasty.. they don't know squat about cars.. they tried to tell me that all 2jz manifolds fit a 1jz etc.. etc.. so they were a no go..

So I decide to wait for virtual works... and Ben told me to call back after SILV.. so I call back a few days after silv and I was told I'd get a call back.. gave Ben my number never called back.. So after a few days I just stopped in.. talked to Ben.. he tells me that they can install it etc... and to order the parts.. (which I did) So when I get all my parts I call again.. Ben takes my number.. never calls back.. So I call again, this time I am told to call back.. WTF?? since when do I have to call back .. you want my money.. but yet I have to call you back in a week. O K ... so I call up a couple of other shops.. 1320 which now only sells parts... I even post up asking for help in a local vegas board.. lvracingscene.com.. I call up spring mountain motorsports.. I stop in and talk to the owner Tony. Great they can fit me in 2 weeks.. I wait to get a call back with more firm pricing.. never get that call.. so now I'm feeling desperate. I call virtual works again.. Ben says there working on a complete supra build and that maybe they can fit me in.. I call back later and nope still can't fit me in.. What!?! keep in mind I've been in contact with them on and off since before SILV until now.

So here I am.. with a SC300 with a half assed 1jz swap, blown stock twins, a single turbo kit and other goodies just sitting in my house.

So now what do I do? I need help...

Thanks

Pat

man you have taken this well. i applaude you.. whatever you do, DONT GIVE UP!!!! get an appointment with a shop, no matter when just get the appointment, then make a list of what is still missing (non engine stuff) and try to get that stuff together and put on while you wait for the big day. sell what you dont need so you get a few $$ in your pocket so the wait doeant seem so bad.. that is a terrible story man. Good Luck with everything

Thanks for the advice ...

I've acutally figured out the temp sensor and the reverse lights problem.

I honestly have considered putting on the single kit myself.. but I still need someone to fab me up IC piping and an exhaust. Plus from what I've read it's a ***** to get the stock twins off.. not only that but my car barely fits into my garage ..

Honestly I think it's funny that shops don't want to take money. They don't have customer service. Sure your gonna get a lot of 15 yr old kids calling saying they want a 2jzgte and never go anywhere with it but thats part of business, and part of your job to deal with those individuals. I work for a living.. I have money ... but I guess shops just don't want my money?!? I thought the point of having a business was to make money...

The only shop that I've delt with that's been awsome is Manictech.. I told rudy he's getting the rest of my parts orders.. I don't care if it costs a little more becuase he returns my calls.. after 5pm.. ships my stuff while I'm on the phone with him.. and answers all of my stupid questions. Why can't there be a shop out here in nevada like that?

I'm kind of conflicted on what my next step should be...

Pat

ps.. Gazi if you get a set of trunk shocks or a brown flip out cupholder.. I'm in need... I think there's a few other parts I'm looking for too.. I'll keep ya posted.

Wow that sucks man, soon you will get it together. I agree try doing it yourself, take it slow and make sure you do everything right. I never met you in Oregon, unless you were the guy who stopped and asked if I wanted to buy a sc with a 1jz when I was at my buddies house. Hows vegas compared to oregon? I'm going out there in December to blow it up for a few days!

Nope never meet you but I did see your sc driving around a lot...

Vegas is way way better then Oregon.. I've gotten used to the heat so.. 70 seems cold to me now.. lol Best part is no rain.. and there's ton's to do.. or if you don't want to you can stay off the strip... crap just to go to a casino was a 50 min drive (spirit mtn) now it's 5 mins.. lol or 2 mins to a gas station..

ps yeah I think the plan is to swap on the single kit myself and get the ic and exhaust made..

Since I don't like to bad mouth people, or stir up more drama. I'll let anyone know by PM only.. but the smaller shop owner is a "well respected" member of supraforums and has plenty of experience with 1jz's..

This post is not to trash talk shops but more of a I need advice/help on which direction to take next.

wow, I would have spit the name out in a sec, make it cost the shop (in possible bus) that its going to cost you. thats honorable of you I guess.

I would try doing all that is doable or has a DIY by yourself. and leave the extra hard stuff to someone reputable, and recommended by someone you trust.

God luck with it all tho, im sure it will pay off in the end.

wait so you ended up paying that original shop even though he took forever and completely messed up your engine?

if so i'd be be pushing for whatever legal power i could use against that shop, you got completely screwed dude and i agree with everyone in here, its very respectful of you of how you are handling the situation

i think i would have had a mental breakdown a few paragraphs before you did lol
