Thumbs up Need advice: 1JZ DP and Exhaust combo

Well i have almost completed my 1JZGTE swap into the SC300, but needed advice in choosing the right setup in terms of DP and exhaust. I was looking at the DP's in the suprafoums RMM, HKS or Greddy DP but seems that they will have fitment issues in regards to the SC300 due to the dual exhaust setup or maybee I am incorrect.

As a side note I was looking at Y pipe and DP combo being offered but noticed that the Y Pipe also has fitment issues since it would strike the firewall on the SC300 compared to the MKIII supras.

As for the exhaust it seems that alot of people are content with Magnaflows staright-thru muffs, unless there are other suggestions, and do you think i should do the custom piping form DP to mufflers, and if so what size is adequate 2.5 or 3".

Advice is greatly appreciated

Which y-pipe? The y-pipe I saw on ebay for some nice $$$ had been fitted to a Soarer IIRC.

Common dual exhaust option is to pick up a XSPower or SSA or Meagan Y-pipe for a 350z and use it as the basis for an exhaust shop to finish the rest of the catback. Its pretty affordable too and high quality SS. IIRC dejacky was looking into this

Yeah thats a good idea for the Catback.

Now on another note, one of the guys on supraforums is selling his HKS DP, says its similar to the 94+ supras, do you guys think I will have any fitment issues using the HKS DP, since the SC300 and Mark IV Supras have similar body styles

I can't say on the 1j, but the 2j 3" & 4" down pipes fit fine on my car
w/ a 2j engine. I would assume the 1j's would be similar.

No fitment issues, the dp's extend just a little ways under the car, the dual section happens further down the exhaust system from your dp.

How'd an MKIII get into the picture? Nothing that fits the MKIV supra is going to hit the firewall of the SC300; the engine bays are near clones of each other.

Yes, custom piping is needed. Keep it 3" to until you split, then 2.5" are fine, you'll have a very free flowing system for your 1j.

no 2jzgte DPs will not fit a 1jz engine. the only way to make them fit is if u mod the mk4 dp.
