Question Strangest problem about battery light coming on

I was changing my rims on sunday (long story, i had to take off my stock rims and everything was closed. i was desperate) so ive done this multiple times. i drove my car parked it in my garage and then i changed my rims after changing my rims, the battery light came on. i have a radar detector with the voltage meter and it was around 11.4 but it was 12.6 beore i changed my rims. what could possibly be the problem?

you probably changed the rims too hard and it damaged the alternator . j/p did you try resetting the computer?

Sounds like the alt. is going bad, check the main battery wire and plug in on the back of the alt for tightness.
