hi, i have a 95 sc300 that just failed emissions. the guy at the emission stations and repair shop told me it was the cat. does anyone know where i could buy an aftermarket cat since the one is connected to the y pipe? thanks...

Since you are looking to pass emissions you dont have alot of options to replace that Y-precat. At least not that im aware of.
The OEM precat is 500 or more. But you should find several companies selling a direct replacement for 200-225 if you do a web search .
Other than that i havnt seen anything truly aftermarket to replace that Y-cat other than doing an na-t upgrade or Xerd/MVP or Top Speed headers, all of wich may cause you to fail emissions.
If you do find another option please share.

Suspension forum is pretty self explanitory.
The main forum is for things that don't fall into either category... for instance some electrical problem, problem with seat or power mirrors, showing off pictures, etc...

Magnaflow cat.
Make sure it is not the the downstream cat. My '92 SC3 with 196k failed emissions on two of three tests, HC and Oxides of N. I made at least a dozen trips to the emissions test. No MIL was on. Took it to a local muffler shop and for $175.00 on the second cat. it passed emissions.

It means that the original poster did NOT put it in the correct forum, and OLT was considerate enough to move it to the correct forum for us and then is alerting the original poster to his incorrect posting location.
