Just to update you the head gasket had a small breach around one of the cylinders. Once we had the gasket off the breach was around the inside of the round hole on the HG. As I mentioned before when we did the gasket I used a Toyota supra one with ARP bolts because I knew I was never going to do it again. The new gasket superseded the old original one. I spent 12 Hours cleaning the top of the Block with the cylinders stuffed with Rags so nothing when into the cylinders. I cleaned the block with new razor blades and gasket remover spray until it was spotless. I had the head checked for warpage and also checked the top of the block with a straight edge used for checking for flat surfaces. It turned out perfect and I caught it just in time. It wasn't getting in the oil yet. I still have it today and it runs perfect.

Thanks for updating this old thread. My '92 SC300 just blew the HG after 199K miles and the description of your problems mimicked mine almost exactly. The shop I use I trust (and they just did the HG on the wife's LS430) and hope to get many more years (as you did) on the SC....
