Default EGR Check engine light

1992 SC-300

My problem is I get a code 71 (EGR temp sensor problem).

I took it to the Lexus dealership. They cleaned out all of the carbon from the EGR all the way to the intake manifold. But I still keep getting the 71 code.

They said there should be a temp sensor attached to the EGR, but I don't have one.
My original EGR valve did not have one attached. Now I think the reason for the code is that I have recently replaced the CPU (Computer) and this newer computer is looking for the Temp Sensor, and I don't have one!

So is there any way to trick the computer into thinking that the car has a temp sensor. or do I have to Spend (according to Lexus) $540 for a
New EGR Valve(225) and EGR sensor (176) + labor? Help!!!!!
