engine swap ... for the 400!
I really like my SC. As I'm sure a lot of you know
Well, the miles are starting to accumulate and I don't want to spend money on body kit, CF drive shaft, CF parts, TC, etc etc etc if i'm going to have to eventually replace the car in X years. then I thought ...
What about swapping out the engine and putting in a '98+ GS400 engine or <gasp!> 430 engine?
I remember that there was a '98 GS400 engine on ebay with 15k miles that was selling VERY cheap (it's not there anymore though). Engine mounts should be the same. I would think that all you would need is the transmission, headers, wiring kit, ECU, and of course the actual engine.
thoughts?

hehe
get a 300 engine... the 2jz-ge... then use the remaining money you WOULD have used on the V8 and buy a turbo kit
don't need special motor mounts for the 2jz
I see the engines on car-part.com go for around $1000-$1500
and the 5-speed trannies go for $750... it'd be a lot of work
but about as much as putting a different V8 series motor in there

Or a 98' SC4 or LS4 engine... Don't forget about the 5spd transmission... The cost is really climbing...
Just get your engine rebuilt, get the TC, get an Apexi S-afc, you have the exhaust! Then you can roll for another few years until you get a used SC430...
Then keep our SC as a collectible...
