Would this also cause vibration in the steering over 60 mph? There have been several post on here about vibration in the steering wheel, but no ones knows how or what the cause is? Is this the problem? Any ideas?

Seller complained about vibration. My mechanic found cracked coupling and broken tranny mount. Replaced both - bye bye vibration.

Sorry to revive an old thread but did anyone find where they sell the solid flex coupler for the drive shaft and diff. I need one urgently as mine is on the way out. Links would greatly help. Its a 5speed r154 to LSD diff Soarer (or Sc300 in the US)

(a) Damn that's a lot of change for that.

(b) for high horsepower cars I can see the need, but for the street car on lower power keeping this soft is a must to lower vibration.

and for kicks (c) This was Leon's (LegendarySC) car his father wrecked and I stripped for parts. I was waiting on the "We haul junk cars away for free" guy to show up when I did this LOL. I never actually clarified that.

O.L.T- Nice work with the saw! I just bought the car yesterday and felt a few bad vibes. One fosho being the front rotors, fixed. Now I have a steady vibe that I can feel through the shifter "as stated in your post to be the center bearing" . But I also have something leading me to belive it may be engine/trans mount. Lets say cruising at 55mph, throttle enough to stay in 4th then let out, thump. Back in throttle slightly, thump. Out, thump. Mostly audible in 4th and 3rd gear, but I'm sure it's every gear.

The engine seems to have a lot of play doing the old school "is it my engine mounts?" test. Brakes applied 100% and enough throttle to get engine movement without smoking out the garage. Reverse not so much but when in drive it seems to torque over more than I'm used to seeing. Wish I had a measurement for you to go off of.

Are engine mounts pretty common problem?

Which ones do I go with for light performance?

Got any good links to PDF repair manual type stuff?

Bump from the dead.
I'm having similar problrms . I am not sure if I need a flex coupler or a carrier shaft bearing. Maybe I need both ?

I just ordered new bolts and washers as my solid diff adapter bolts keep coming loose. I hope there is a much easier way to them, ;-)
