Spark Plug Recommendation for NA-T
I have a 97 SC300 5speed and I am currently getting ready for my NA-T modifications. I just got my car serviced today to ensure that everything is in proper working order for when the boostlogic stage one NA-T kit goes on next month. Here's my problem. I had the spark plugs changed as a part of my maintenance, but now I am having second thoughts as to whther I should have had them replaced with something other than the oem spark plugs. Please help me out if you have knowledge on this subject. Would it be a problem to run the oem spark plugs with a NA-T setup such as the boostlogic Stage One? If so, why and what would be better? What would you do in my situation? Sorry for all the questions, but I need to figure this out before next month when the turbo kit goes on. Thanks in advance.

Stage 1 sounds to me like you're retaining stock sc300 headgasket. If that is the case, I recommend NGK 3330 spark plugs gapped at 0.032. Stock plugs are gapped at 0.0444 i believe. You can also go dith some denso iridiums.

my personal choice is hks or blitz iridiums. i had ngk and i don't see a great difference, but a difference none the less. i am assume iridium overall is a great buy. i had hks and now i am running the blitz. its a pretty penny, but like i said its my choice to buy iridiums in general. i only went name brand because the shop i take my car to hooks it up for a price i can't say no to.

The stock plugs are a little hot and the gap is too big. That's why the above recommendations are a good idea to follow. If you run those plugs you may get some det and you'll surely blow out the spark with that gap at upper boost levels.
