using a SupraTT head for going turbo
#3
i've also read into it some more...
I'm wondering if the throttle body/TPS from the TT intake manifold is compatible or the same as the 2jz-ge... just so the ECU knows how much air its pushing ... then later to upgrade to VPC and 550s
i've found remanufactured head places sell the gte head but i'm pretty sure its bare casting without the cams/valves and valvesprings

Bean,
The 2jz-gte (supra tt motor) has completely different jackets then the 2tz-ge (na supra & lexus) engine, so she will not work with the GE short block.
The intake is completely different too, oval for the gte vs circular for the ge,
So basically you can’t swap much from these 2 motors.
You best bet if you are going to keep the ge head, is to get a custom intake manifold, so that is will resemble that of the gte. This way you can have an fmic, without having to double back the ic piping to get it back to the intake manifold.
Check out this link,

The intake manifold is PHR, (discontinued production) the throttle body is now like that of the gte motor.

Wow, that sounds like the ticket... Think Larry could make one of these?
BTW when did you get into the 10s? You see that nice 10.17@150 run by SW of turboimports yet?

I'm sure SP could probably make one. Bullish Racing is making a similar one for the TT, so maybe they could make one for the n/a?
I ran a 10.99 earlier this summer, then got the 10.86 a couple weeks ago.
SW run is wild, that car is insane! 150mph traps are just incredible......

the head will bolt to the block..the jackets are the same..i dont know where that false info came from......i dont know about the ECU working though...i think you would need supra tt electronics...but it will bolt to a na block...i have a supra tt block in my car...so i know it works........i just dont know what other headaches will accompany it<electronics...>
would be very easy to do a toyomoto head gasket and lower compression...toyomoto can also do a custom intake but the stock 2jzge manifold flows alot of air......no need to redo it unless your going for like 700rwhp....its runners and end tank are bigger than the supra tt motor
and i have a front mount intercooler.....was easier to make piping for a front mount IC than to make a new intake manifold...
also in turbo magazine youll see an is300 making 606rwhp on the stock intake manifold...Jeff

Here is some recycled info I did post, and where some of it came from.

One question, there are differences b/w the blocks, but in essence when it comes to power holding which one is better and why? Everyone says the gte block is stronger, but does anyone really know, by estimated guess the diff in power handling capabilities, if there really are any?
Thanks,

the heads are different but they do bolt up to the block the same...
differance in blocks-GTE has oil squirters for the wrist pins and has lower compression pistons...
GE- has higher compression pistons and no oil squirters...
they both can handle very high hp ..i.e. over 600 rear wheel just with a GE block you need to add a toyomoto head gasket to lower compression....i had this set up for a long time till an exploded pressure plate trashed my stock block.......so now i have a tt block because i found a deal on a motor and 6spd...so i kept the GE head and used a tt block......so everyone that says a tt block is stronger is wrong...but it is more suited to coiling because of the oil injectors and lower compression from factoy...so it is better in the long run but not exactly stronger.....Jeff

In reading that thread, someone mentioned limited slip... My 92 SC300 seems to have and UNlimited slip The LSD was an option on certain years of the N/A Supra, but not the SC300 to my knowledge.
