Default I'm having trouble getting my car to start.

My SC300 is having starting issues. When I first put the key in the ignition (w/ the clutch pedal depressed), I get one solid "click"...and that's it. I repeat the process and the same thing happens over and over. Maybe on the 8th try or so...my car will fire right up.

What do you think it can be?

Starter going bad?
Low battery?
Time to replace plugs/wires?

I know this is kinda vague, but just trying to isolate the problem.

So what ended up being the problem?

This morning and subsequently in the day my car did the exact same thing. I'm going to check it tomorrow. It doesn't seem like the battery because if it was drained then you'd think the first couple of unsuccessful cranks would drain it even more. I'm going to check the battery connections, and if that's not it then I'm going to suspect the starter.

im having the same problem... it's actually a sign of your starter motor is dying...
i just got one from the forum here so i can swap it out next week or so when i do my headgasket job...
and rebuild my dying starter for my back up... but check your battery first and see if you get good charge from altenator too... if everything is good then it's 100% your starter... like mine..

Opps. Totally forgot about this thread.

The problem for me, ended up being the starter.
Battery was totally fine in my case.

It seems that when you only get one click it is usually the starter. More clicks usually refers to a bad battery or bad connection.
