93 SC300 hesitation on accel.
Hello all, I have been reading the post in the forums about the hesitation problems. I just purchased a 1993 sc300 with 82k miles. The car at times has a stumle on light acceleration. It does not seem to be as bad on a hard accel. I did not notice it when I puchased the car. I went out to drive the car this morning to work, no problems. I drove the car home from work, and the stumble was there. The 60k service was done at the local dealer, so the fuel filter and spark plugs were changed at that time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Please check my thread a few posts down. I had the same problem after a tune up, I dont know what the mechanics did, but it took them 2 trips. They pretty much said they had to clean the throttle body.

If I remember correctly, this was discussed awhiles back (several years). The solution for many was to remove the TB and clean it out real good. I cleaned mine while I was doing my valve cover gaskets and plugs. Needed almost 2 whole bottles of carb cleaner to get the 13 years' worth of gunk off the TB butterfly valves and the Y intake plenum. This solved my problems with that 2000-3000 rpm stutter.
