i've heard the sc300 i6 is like the supra's, and i was just wondering if the sc400 v8's were derived from somewhere else too or was lexus the first toyotas to have v8's?

I believe the SC400 V-8 was a clean sheet design just for the LS400 and SC400.

Nowadays, the Tundra/Sequoia I force V-8 shares some of the basic design of this engine.

The only thing it was patterned after was Mercedes Benz.

The 2UZ and 3UZ are derivatives of the original 1UZ
