Thumbs up 4 row FMIC on SC300?

Has anyone fit a 4 row front mount intercooler (with measurements pls) on a sc300? I'm looking for the biggest FMIC you can fit without cutting any metal or dropping too low below the frame on the SC300. Also, any supporting pics would be great. (i'm asking because i have big plans for summer )

I searched for your name and couldn't find any "FMIC" threads. Care to link me?

I had a MKIV 4 row on my car. it bolted up just fine and You could still use the factory bumper support. I also didn't cut any of the piping the kit came with since I was GTE/single.

why would u use a 4 row on a te-44? do you realize how laggy the car will be? have you considered boost drop on a big fmic like that? you are running a te-44 at 7psi on stock headgasket and tranny.. you dont need a 4 row.. the hpf 3 row is rated over 800hp and the 4 row is rated at about 1000hp...

i want the coolest charge entering the intake . And can't AEM be tuned to not feel soggy when boosting 12-14psi on stock headgasket with a TE-44?

Has anyone even went as far to actually measure the the diffrence in volume and then caculate how fast the turbo can fill up that area? Looking at the boost gauge and making an estimate is just that and not concrete data. I would bet that the diffrence is no more than half a second but the lower heastsoak from a larger cooler makes up for any potential loss. I will even go so far to say that the diffrence you find will not be easily measurable without some form of objective data logging.

From my experience, a larger intercooler doesn't really increse lag. Im sure there will be a slight diffrence like a couple rpms but nothing that will be really noticable. I've talked to people with supras that went from stock sidemount to a greddy 4row and DID NOT notice a diffrence in lag. Im curious how people are even measuring lag? Looking at a dyno sheet definitely isn't the right way to do it.

I will agree a 4row is overkill on a te-44 turbo @ 7psi

you'd need to data log to see the difference between intercoolers... it will definitely be noticeable... Boost drop is also going to be an issue with him... Even if he were running 20psi on that turbo, a greddy 3 row would be overkill.. so a 4 row would definitely be mega overkill

I didn't even see you were using a te-44. I do think the 4 row would be over kill for your setup.

When I was using the 4 row, I has using an SP74HO rated at 950hp.
